Our Mission: The Coalition for a Drug Free Nevada County brings together the collective expertise of the community, families and youth to support a community-wide prevention movement to reduce substance abuse among Nevada County’s Youth.
What are community coalitions?
Community coalitions are comprised of parents, teachers, law enforcement, businesses, religious leaders, health providers and other community activists who are mobilizing at the local level — and nationally under the CADCA umbrella — to make their communities safer, healthier and drug-free.
How do coalitions make a difference in communities?
Coalition building is a smart strategy that promotes coordination and collaboration and makes efficient use of limited community resources. By connecting multiple sectors of the community in a comprehensive approach, community coalitions are achieving real outcomes.
We envision our community filled with youth who can achieve personal and academic success; be connected to adults and their community; have a positive vision of their future and grow up to be healthy, productive and civic-minded adults.
Our meetings are open to the public and every community member can play a role in preventing substance abuse. For more information about how you can get involved, please contact us or join a Steering Committee Meeting on the second Wednesday of every other month from 3:00pm to 5:00pm at The Campus ~ Grass Valley 180 Sierra College Drive, Grass Valley, CA 95945
